This is just to remind you that all Covid-19 positive cases must be reported to the Compensation Commissioner.<\/p>\n

    Here is an extract out of the Government Notice \u2013 Department of Employment and Labour \u2013 Circular no. CF\/03\/2020 number 6 to explain the process of reporting Covid-19 positive cases:<\/p>\n

    \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Reporting<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

    1.1\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The following documentation should be submitted to the Compensation Commissioner or the employer individually liable or the mutual association concerned:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

    a) Employer\u2019s Report of an Occupational Disease (W.CL.1)<\/em><\/p>\n

    b) Notice of an Occupational Disease and Claim for Compensation <\/em>(W.CL.14)<\/em><\/p>\n

    c) Exposure and Medical Questionnaire<\/em><\/p>\n

    d) First Medical Report in respect of an Occupational Disease (W.CL.22)<\/em> indicating U07.1 as the ICD-10 code for Covid-19<\/em><\/p>\n

    e) Exposure History (W.CL.110) and\/or any other appropriate <\/em>employment history which may include any information that may be <\/em>helpful to the Compensation Commissioner.<\/em><\/p>\n

    f) A medical report on the employee\u2019s symptoms that details the <\/em>history, establishes a diagnosis of COVID-19 and laboratory results <\/em>and chest radiographs where appropriate or any other information <\/em>relevant to the claim.<\/em><\/p>\n

    g) For each consultation, a Progress Medical Report (W.CL.26).<\/em><\/p>\n

    h) Final Medical Report in respect of an Occupational Disease (W.CL.26) <\/em>when the employee\u2019s condition has reached Maximum Medical <\/em>Improvement (MMI).<\/em><\/p>\n

    i) An affidavit by the employee if employer cannot be traced or will not <\/em>timeously supply a W.CL.1, where applicable.<\/em><\/p>\n

    \u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

    1.2\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Online claims for Covid-19 must be made through the following channels, indicating the correct ICD-10 code \u2013 U07.1:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

    \u00a0<\/em><\/strong>Compensation Fund:\u00a0 CompEasy (<\/em><\/strong>www.labour.gov.za<\/em><\/strong><\/a>)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

    Rand Mutual Assurance:\u00a0 CompCare (<\/em><\/strong>www.randmutual.co.za<\/em><\/strong><\/a>)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

    Federated Employers Mutual:\u00a0 IMS (<\/em><\/strong>https:\/\/roe.fem.co.za<\/em><\/strong><\/a>)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n
